Signs your panel needs upgrading

Nuisance tripping, buzzing from the board, hot breaker toggles, old rewireable fuses, or plans to add AC, EV charger or a water heater are all signals the panel has hit its limit. An undersized board is a leading cause of electrical fires — do not keep resetting the breaker without a load check.

What a panel upgrade includes

Site load calculation, new enclosure, main isolator, RCCB/ELCB residual protection, individual MCBs per circuit, proper phase/neutral bars, labelling, and full test results. Where the NEA meter feed is undersized we coordinate the service cable upgrade too.

Panel upgrade cost

Residential DB upgrades start around Rs 25,000 for 100A boards and run to Rs 80,000 for 200A with extra circuits. Commercial three-phase 400A work starts near Rs 80,000. Material brand (Havells, Schneider, Siemens class) affects the final number — you choose the tier before we order.

How do I know if my panel is too small?

Frequent trips under normal use, warm breaker toggles, or no spare circuit ways are the main signs. We do a free load calculation during the estimate visit.

Can you add circuits during the upgrade?

Yes — most upgrades include spare ways so you can add a geyser, AC or EV charger circuit later without opening the board again.

Do panel upgrades need NEA approval?

Internal board work usually does not. If the meter service size must change, we guide you through the NEA process as part of the project.
